Pingxi line, a railway located in New Taipei City that connects several small villages and turns it into a wonderful tourist line. There are 9 stations including Jingtong, Pingxi, Lingjiao, Wanggu, Shifen, Dahua, Sandiaoling, Houtong and Ruifang. Among them, Houtong, Shifen, Pingxi and Jingtong are the most famous.

Unfortunately, when I was on the one-day trip, I spend too much time in every station so I was unable to visit Pingxi station😭Although I only visit Houtong, Shifen and Jingtong, but it is also a fulfilling journey!

Houtong

Houtong, a village that full of cats. It was once recommended by CNN as one of the top six cat viewing spots in the world, and it is a must-see tourist attraction for cat lovers. Under the careful care of the local residents, the cats here are clean and not afraid of life.

As soon as you exit Houtong Station, you will see a cat stationmaster doll.

Remember to take a photo with the cat stationmaster!

A "Cat Information Station" has also been set up in the village to let every tourist know every cat's name.

You can also see the traces of cats on the road. There are also cute cat murals on the walls. The whole village has cat lanes and springboards for the convenience of cats.

Shifen

Shifen Station is the middle and the largest station on Pingxi line. Most people think of Pingxi when they mention sky lanterns. In fact, Shifen is the origin of sky lanterns, and sky lanterns can also be placed here!

The railroad tracks next to the street is the unique scenery that will only be seen in Shifen old street. Tourists can walk on the rails or write their wishes on the sky lanterns directly on the rails.

Jingtong

Jingtong, the terminus of the entire Pingxi Line. Jingtong famous with its antique wooden structure, which also known as the only remaining wooden station on the Pingxi line. It also the least crowded station compared to other famous stations.

As soon as you exit the station, you will arrive at Jingtong Old Street which is a quaint old street where time seems to stand still.

Due to the lesser number of tourists, Jingtong is also a better place to take nice photos. There are also many nice places that suitable to "check-in"!

Before return to Taipei, you can buy a sky lantern or a small bamboo tube and write down your wish to make a perfect ending for the journey on the Pingxi Line.

Thanks for watching till the end. Hope you also have a nice trip on Pingxi Line!
